Need-Based Aid
Ohio University students who file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be eligible for need-based aid, including grants, subsidized loans and/or federal work-study. Grant awards are considered gift aid and do not need to be repaid. Federal subsidized loans do need to be repaid after you graduate or leave school, but interest does not accrue while you are enrolled. Work-study is a federally funded program that allows you to earn money to pay for your educational expenses. Need-based aid is only available to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

Special Note to Transfer Students
Students who are transferring to Ohio University from another institution should request that their FAFSA results be sent to Ohio University's Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships as early as possible. Financial aid does not automatically transfer from one institution to another.
