OHIO Athletics and Ohio University Women’s Center to host halftime recognition on National Girls and Women in Sport Day

National Girls and Women in Sport Day (NGWSD) is an annual event powered by the Women’s Sport Foundation – founded by Billie Jean King in 1974. The day aims to continue to “inspire girls and women to play sport and be active – to realize their power.

Feb. 1, 2023, marks the 37th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day. After a year-long celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Title IX in 2022, this year’s event serves as the inauguration for the next 50 years of commitment towards bolstering education and advocacy efforts.

Therefore, in celebration of NGWSD, please join OHIO Athletics, the Women's Center and the College of Arts and Sciences’ Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies Program to recognize the student leadership of women and marginalized genders across campus.
