Professional Development Pathways prepares for launch
The Badging and Certification Project will provide on-the-job professional development opportunities for Ohio University employees through new learning opportunities recorded in Blackboard. The first badges and certificates are expected to be available summer 2018 with the full program launching during the 2018-2019 academic year.
The OHIO Professional Development Pathways program will launch later this month. As communicated in March, the framework for the first two certificates will be available for review at launch with training content to be developed throughout the year. As courses become available for each certificate, employees will receive communication and instructions on how to enroll in the new courses. In addition to the Accounting and Purchasing certificate framework introduction, other courses will be available at launch, including Search Committee Training and a Welcome to Blackboard course, which familiarizes employees with the Learning Management System.
Additional courses and certificates will be added as the certificate program matures. All training content will be reviewed on an annual basis, and courses that require updates due to regulatory, policy, or system changes will be updated with new content. Depending on the extent of the updates, employees may need to take the updated courses to maintain earned certificates. Information about course updates and renewal requirements will be posted on the Professional Development website.
