Apply now for new Ohio University Capital Internship Program

We are now accepting applications for the Ohio University Capital Internship program, which was announced by President Dr. M. Duane Nellis at the annual Federal Alumni Government Luncheon on Sept. 27.

This new program seeks to provide a core group of students who have an interest in government and public policy with the opportunity to participate first-hand in public service by observing and contributing to the legislative process.

The program, which begins its pilot in Spring Semester 2019, is co-directed by Dr. Geoff Dabelko, director of the Environmental Studies program in Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs and Dr. Sarah Poggione, chair of Political Science in College of Arts and Sciences.

Housing for each participating intern will be covered by Ohio University Capital Internship Program with the remaining cost of attendance consistent with a regular academic semester.

Eligibility requirements to participate in the Ohio University Capital Internship Program include:

  • Junior or Senior status in any major, on any OHIO campus (Exceptional sophomores may also be nominated)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • In good judicial standing

A fall semester cohort is being planned. For more information about the Ohio University Capital Internship Program application process, cost, and eligibility requirements, visit https://www.ohio.edu/president/initiatives/capital-internship-program.cfm.
