Accessible OHIO: It’s What We Do
At Ohio University, we embrace that we have a collective responsibility to create the opportunity for people with disabilities to have an accessible and inclusive experience whether a student, employee, visitor, or community member.
There are many simple ways we can all contribute to the development and maintenance of an accessible and inclusive environment.
Accessible OHIO: It’s What We Do highlights a series of actions that any of us may take – no expertise required!
What is, and how do I report, an accessibility barrier?
An accessibility barrier is something that impacts, or may impact, access for a person living with a disability. Examples of barriers include physical issues such as sidewalks or doorways that are difficult to navigate, websites or software that is not compatible with assistive technology, or program policies or procedures that limit participation of people with disabilities.
We seek your assistance in making our community more accessible. One way you can do this is to alert us to the barriers you notice in your daily activities around campus.Whether you find something obstructing a hallway in a classroom building or are walking down Court Street and trip on an uneven sidewalk, we ask that you let us know.
