Mentors and mentees are asked to apply to participate in the Bobcat Mentorship Network by Sept. 16 and are expected to be paired, based on their mutual professional interests, on Sept. 23.

Dedicated to building a stronger Ohio University community that engages all members in the professional development of every Bobcat, OHIO announces the upcoming launch of the Bobcat Mentorship Network.

Spearheaded by the Ohio University Alumni Association in partnership with the Career and Leadership Development Center, the Bobcat Mentorship Network is an easy-to-use platform where OHIO students seek guidance, and alumni, faculty and staff coach students in their professional development. In addition to helping students navigate their OHIO experience and transition from college to career, the overarching goal of the network is to provide all members of the Ohio University community a meaningful way to learn from and encourage one another in a professional setting.

Participation in the program is free, and signing up is easy and quick. Simply visit the Bobcat Mentorship Network website, click “Join Now” and complete your profile. After completing your profile, you must apply to participate in the program and will then be provided with additional information.

Recruitment for mentors (OHIO alumni, faculty and staff) and mentees (students) is underway. OHIO students began enrolling as mentees in the program during Bobcat Student Orientation. Mentors and mentees are asked to apply to participate in the program by Sept. 16 and are expected to be paired, based on their mutual professional interests, on Sept. 23.

In signing up to participate in the program, all participants are asked to make a semester-long commitment to at least one monthly interaction with their mentor or mentee.

“The Bobcat Mentorship Network is just the first step in creating a broader Bobcat Career Network that supports present and past Bobcats in their journeys to professional success,” said Dori Branch, BSC ’13, MED ’18, assistant director of mentorship programming. “In providing a way for OHIO students to network with the leaders of today and OHIO graduates, faculty and staff to mentor the leaders of tomorrow, we look to build a culture of support and facilitate Bobcat connections.”
