Mental health fundraiser is Nov. 16
The Ohio University Interfraternity Council will host a mental health fundraising event, titled “Mentala,” from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov 16, in Walter Hall Rotunda.
The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Ohio University Counseling and Psychological Services are co-hosting this event.
Ted St. John, the CEO and co-founder of Hope Village Recovery, and Ana Aguilar, a student from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, will share their personal experiences to raise awareness about mental health. It will also include a raffle for gift baskets, live performances from student organizations and a buffet dinner.
“All of the proceeds will go towards Mental Health America, which is a community-based non-profit which specializes in making sure that people suffering from mental health illnesses are provided with the help they need,” said John LaPolla, vice president of judicial affairs in the Interfraternity Council.
A ticket sells for $25 or $175 for a table. Tickets for the Mentala event are available at: https://commerce.cashnet.com/ohioemkt2
