University announces General Counsel finalists

Four finalists have been named in the search for Ohio University’s next General Counsel. On-campus interviews will begin Nov. 18. The following finalists will spend time on the Athens Campus, meeting with representatives across our shared governance structure in scheduled interview sessions:

Nov. 18-19:  Stacey Bennett
Nov. 19-20:  Clifton Iler
Nov. 20-21:  Barbara Nalazek
Nov. 21-22:  Joan Gates

Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Chaden Djalali, and Deborah Shaffer, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and Treasurer of Ohio University and the Ohio University Foundation, are co-chairing this search. This committee includes a broad cross-section of our University. Members of this committee are listed below.

The University’s General Counsel is provided through a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ohio Attorney General’s office and the University President. As such, the Ohio Attorney General’s office has a representative serving on the search committee as well. The search committee includes:
