Learn how STEAM professionals found their career path during CLDC's next industry panel

Finding the right career path can be difficult, even if you know your major. This is one of the reasons the Career and Leadership Development Center (CLDC) hosts industry panels where students can hear from professionals in specific fields about the various steps they took and decisions they made throughout their careers.

As a collaboration with the College of Arts & Sciences’ Career and Networking Week, the CLDC’s next industry panel will focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) careers. The event will take place in the CoLab, Alden Library room 301, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

“The truth is, there is no one right way to enter the workforce,” said Dori Branch, the associate director of the Bobcat Career Network, explaining why the CLDC hosts these panels. “It’s also possible your career and interests will change over time, and that’s okay!”

Attendees will get to learn not only about the panelists’ careers but also about the skills they are able to transfer between industries. This event is a great opportunity both for students who are exploring career possibilities within STEAM fields and students who are not yet sure what path they would like to take after graduation. Graduate students and alumni are also welcome.

The panel will end with light hors d’oeuvres and networking. The dress code is business casual, and students can explore the CLDC’s Career Closet if they are in need of professional attire.

This industry panel is the second of three this year. Previously, the CLDC hosted a panel on storytelling, and the final panel will focus on sustainability. Visit Handshake for more information.
