Reminder: Contact student employees to arrange remote work by March 23

All supervisors of student employees must reach out to their student workers by Monday, March 23, with remote working opportunities. This is for student workers who were already employed this semester but are not currently working in person or remotely.

This correspondence should include both free and electronically-accessible work options, such as web training, as well as directions for how the department may engage students in meaningful work.

Some examples of meaningful work opportunities include website review, social media assistance, job documentation, video tutorials and professional development. New opportunities for online work will be shared on an ongoing basis.

Students should only log up to the number of hours that they were assigned previously to work for this current semester, unless there is a specific department demand for increased hours.

Departments can rely on average work week schedules from earlier this semester or another appropriate method. However, students do not have to work only between the regular business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as long as they make satisfactory progress on their assignments. Students can log their hours the same way as they have in the past.
