Dr. Jesse Strycker to host engaging students with technology talk May 18

The Patton College of Education is featuring the fourth session in its new Remote Teaching Series,  noon to 1 p.m. Monday, May 18. 

As we navigate the challenges of online instruction, these hour-long online presentations will discuss innovations in teaching and engaging students with technology.

This session features Dr. Jesse Strycker, assistant professor, Innovative Learning Design & Technology, Department of Educational Studies. He will present, “Creating and Using Instructional Videos, Screencasts, and Podcasts to Increase Instructor Presence, Increase Student Interaction, and Expedite Feedback in Online Courses.” 

This series is open to Ohio University and the community. Each session will be hosted on Microsoft Teams and will be recorded for those who cannot participate live.

View the second session: "Virtual Learning Approaches From a Mutually Safe Distance," by Mr. Thom Stevenson, assistant professor of instruction, Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism, Department of Human and Consumer Sciences.

View the third session: “Providing Value in a Quarantined Internship,by Ms. Robin Ambrozy, assistant professor of instruction and program coordinator, Customer Service Leadership, Department of Human and Consumer Sciences.

Monday, June 1, noon to 1 p.m., Applying Trauma Informed Care Strategies to Reduce Secondary Trauma and Promote Wellness,” by Tamarine Foreman, assistant professor, Counselor Education, Department of Counseling and Higher Education.
