Mediation training available for OHIO community
Ohio University faculty, staff and students can participate for free in the course “Fundamentals of Mediation,” sponsored by the Athens Area Mediation Service, starting Sept. 11.
The course runs from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Fridays, Sept. 11, 18 and 25, and Oct. 2 and 9, and will be conducted via Zoom.
Mediation is a structured, informal, voluntary process in which a neutral third party facilitates a conversation between people who are experiencing some kind of conflict. The skills developed in this training can be applied both in a traditional mediation setting or can help with any situation in which individuals must navigate conflict.
Interested participants should plan to attend all five sessions.
OHIO employees and students can visit the Athens Area Mediation Service events page at http://www.athensmediation.com/events.html to register for the course.
