Registration open for online classroom engagement workshop
The Office of Instructional Innovation is hosting a workshop for faculty interested in increasing student engagement in virtual environments.
The workshops will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.
Dr. Meg Flanigan, associate director of the Center for Teaching and Learning and professor of instruction with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, will lead a live session to discuss and share best practices for creating instructor presence and student engagement in the online classroom.
Co-facilitators for these sessions will include Dr. Sean Parsons, associate professor of instruction, College of Fine Arts; Dr. Christy Zempter, director, OHIO Honors Program, Honors Tutorial College; Dr. Jennifer Fredette, associate professor, College of Arts and Sciences; and Michael Clevidence, associate professor of instruction, College of Health Sciences and Professions.
Faculty are invited to join this supportive discussion, share challenges and concerns, and explore together how to re-establish a sense of classroom community.
