Bobcat Safe App offers safety resources on Athens Campus

Bobcat Safe is a mobile app that promotes safety resources to the OHIO community and can be used by students, faculty and staff on the Athens campus.

The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play and has more than 50 features. The app offers emergency resources, transportation resources, a link to the Survivor Advocacy Program, maps, location services and more.

Another feature is called “walk with a friend.” Users can share their location with a friend and virtually walk with them to their destination. 

Bobcat Safe was launched in 2019 and developed by the Ohio University Police Department as part of its mandate to develop services, programs, policies and resources to promote and address student safety. Student Senate, the Office of Information Technology, Division of Student Affairs, Emergency Management, and University Communications and Marketing were also involved in the initiative.
