Keeping Bobcats Informed, May 11, 2022
Bobcat Parents & Families,
We did it. The school year has wrapped up and we are finally headed into summer. Encourage your Bobcat to take some time to refresh and recharge, while still making the most of their summer. It's not too late to get ahead of required courses, look for a summer job, or think about their options after OHIO.
Whether your Bobcat is staying in Athens for the summer or not, OHIO will continue to offer the resources needed to help support your student in their continued growth this summer and beyond, and you can too!
Wishing you all a happy summer filled with lots of sun,
Kathy A Fahl, MSW
Dean of Students
Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month
This month we're recognizing the influence and achievements of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans (AAPI) in our community! Learn from Bobcat Alexis Karolin as she documents AAPI history as it happens.
Make The Most Of Your Summer
Summer always brings luxurious memories of free play and long, sun-drenched days. We think it's a great opportunity to rest and recharge, but if you have time to spare, consider a few of these options...
- Get ahead on your required courses by signing up for classes.
- Maybe spring semester flew by and you didn't quite get around to applying for a summer job or internship yet. We got you. Join Handshake and meet fellow Bobcats looking to hire Bobcats.
- Need some extra pocket change this summer or for the upcoming school year? Apply for a campus job or join our culinary team!
- Explore your options after college by meeting with a career coach.
Celebrate The Arts
Women and the female form
This student-produced exhibition highlights works from the Kennedy Museum of Art's collection that investigate the representation of women and the female form in art.
Connections, remembered
Connections, Remembered is an exhibition researched and produced by students enrolled in the Museum Studies Certificate Program.
Night Skies: Navajo Textiles
This exhibition features 12 weavings from Kennedy Museum of Art’s Edwin L. and Ruth E. Kennedy Southwest Native American Collection (SWNA).
Be Kind To Your Mind
Now that the semester has come to a close, take the time to check up on your mental health. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and OHIO will always be around to provide the resources you need.
For students located in Ohio during the summer, counseling services are available. If you're out of state, the team will support you to identify services you can access.

Too good to be true?
Did you know that there are different kinds of email campaigns designed to steal your personal data? This includes part-time job scams, which offer college students high wages for short hours of work. If it sounds too good to be true — it probably is. Don’t fall for it and never disclose any personal information.
