Students invited to register by Feb. 22 for Student Research and Creative Activity Expo 2023

Ohio University students are invited to register for the annual Student Research and Creative Activity Expo by Feb. 22.

"For over 20 years, the Student Expo has showcased the research and creative works of our Ohio University students. We have seen innovative and impactful research throughout the years. I am excited to see the continued hard work and accomplishments of this year’s participants," said Martha Adsitt, Expo Director and Graduate College services administer. 

The Ohio University Student Expo will be held in person at the Convocation Center on April 13 and will feature research and projects from 600 undergraduate, graduate and medical students.

This year students have two ways to participate:

• Live event @ the Convo: Judging will be from 9 to 11 a.m., and the Expo will be open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• On social media: Students will be able to post text, picture, graphic, video etc. on social media using the #OUStudentExpo tag @bobcatsdiscover (Twitter and Instagram).

Registration closes on Feb. 22 at 11:59 p.m. Registration for the live Expo will be capped at 600 presenters, so students who want to participate in this option are encouraged to register early.

For students wanting to participate in the social media option, registration is also required if they want a T-shirt.

"This year we are fortunate to have Paula Miller from the Sociology and Anthropology Department in the role of the judges coordinator. Paula will be contacting and coordinating our volunteer faculty, alumni and industry leaders who give their time to the event and support our students," Adsitt added. "All of this is also made possible by my student staff — Samantha Kruse, Carlene Edmonds and Mackenzie Cook — who are doing and great job on social media and recruiting the volunteers who help with the set up and tear down of the event."

"A special thank you to University Libraries for funding T-shirts and archiving the presentations through Ohio Open Library," said Roxanne Male’-Brune, director of grant development and projects in the Research Division.
