Keeping Bobcats Informed, April 12, 2023

Bobcat Parents and Families,
The University's annual Giving Day is about supporting the success of students. It's a wonderful way to show gratitude to a place that means so much to so many. On April 18, all community members are invited to support the part of OHIO they care about most. Gifts made during the 24-hour celebration will benefit students by providing funding for academic, athletic, cultural, career, and basic needs programs.
Last year, over 2,000 donors made gifts totaling more than $865,877, a record-breaking success for OHIO. Each gift will be tracked on the Giving Day website to provide real-time updates on progress toward participation goals.
Your support will impact all current and future Bobcats by giving them a solid foundation to build successful lives!
Best,
Kathy

Kicking off on April 18, Giving Day is a chance for you to show support for whatever you're most passionate about at OHIO. You can help provide groceries to students facing food insecurity, uplift the voices of diverse perspectives, and yes, you can even name a College Green squirrel.
This year's food pantry drive is going digital: instead of donating cans, you can use the linked image above or stop by the Court Street entrance of Baker Center between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to make a gift and pick up some OHIO swag!
In recognition of Earth Month, OHIO will host various celebrations throughout April. You can attend events like the ReBike Program, where you can purchase a used bike, the Arbor Day Celebration, where you can learn to grow your own tree from a College Green acorn, and the OHIO Earth Day Parade, where you can join Rufus and march through campus in celebration!
If you're part of a student org and want to host your own celebration, members of the Greening OHIO Initiative will host a virtual training to teach you how to plan your event sustainably.
OHIO's basic needs program, Bobcats Helping Bobcats, is a way for you to give and get help when facing an emergency that may impact your overall well-being and ability to be successful in college.
Know that you are not alone if you are struggling to afford basic necessities, experiencing housing insecurity, or any other unforeseen emergency. Learn how you can help a Bobcat in need by clicking on each of the individual basic needs programs.
OIT TECH TIP
Train in data security
You can take a free, online Data Security & Privacy training course to learn how to keep your private data safe. Students are often the target of phishing attempts, and this course will help you avoid such attacks. It takes one hour to complete and looks great on a resume!
