OHIO Giving Day set for April 9, will include special events, surprises
OHIO Giving Day 2024 will celebrate Ohio University by empowering the next generation of Bobcats with access to the University’s experiences and opportunities.
Set this year for Tuesday, April 9, the fifth annual OHIO Giving Day is a 24-hour campaign created to inspire alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends to support the parts of Ohio University that they care about most.
"Join us on Giving Day as we stand up and cheer for all Ohio University has to offer," said Executive Director of Annual Giving Caty Allgood.
From 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on April 9, all members of the OHIO community will be invited to donate to funds all across the University and take advantage of dozens of matches and challenges available throughout the day.
"We've planned a day that mixes fun with the spirit of giving -- and includes a few surprises you'll love! There are many special opportunities throughout the day to see your gift doubled or even tripled thanks to generous donors who established match and challenge gifts,” Allgood said. “Our very own Foundation Board of Trustees has committed more than $33,000 for their annual Power Hour - Mark your calendar to donate at noon on Tuesday, April 9, and increase your impact for another deserving Bobcat."
Donors on Giving Day will be able to the support scholarships and programs that mean the most to them, while also having the opportunity to collect Bobcat swag, including acorns from the College Green Red Oaks ready to plant. The idea is to bring a little bit of this place to your place.
For a gift of $18.04 or more to a featured fund, donors this year will also be able to once again name a College Green squirrel, and will receive a downloadable digital certificate suitable for gifting.
In addition, there will be surprise announcements throughout the day, adding more fun to this annual tradition.
