Ohio University Alumni Association receives Insight Into Diversity Magazine’s 2024 Alumni Association Inclusive Excellence Award

Today, the Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA) received the 2024 Alumni Association Inclusive Excellence Award from Insight Into Diversity magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education.

The Alumni Award honors alumni association's programs, culture, and initiatives that encourage and support diversity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging for all alumni, regardless of racial or ethnic background, sexual or gender identity, religion, socio-economic status, world view and more.

Ohio University will be featured, along with 31 other recipients, in the June 2024 issue of Insight Into Diversity magazine.

“The OUAA is grateful for this recognition of the University’s collective efforts to engage the vast and diverse OHIO alumni community,” said Jennifer Bowie, executive director of the OUAA and associate vice president of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. “There are more than 290,000 living alumni of OHIO. This Inclusive Excellence Award celebrates the dedication and passion of all of our Bobcat alumni volunteers, faculty and staff partners, and students and their efforts to connect with all grads in meaningful ways.”

Insight Into Diversity magazine selected the OUAA because of its long-standing commitment to serve all Ohio University alumni and students. The commitment is evident in the OUAA’s array of Alumni Networks, including the Ebony Bobcat Network and PRIDE Network; career and professional development programming on topics related to diversity; diverse alumni representation on the OUAA Board of Directors and across Alumni Network leadership; signature programs like the triennial Black Alumni Reunion; and partnerships across the University from OHIO’s regional campuses to the Division of Diversity and Inclusion.

“We know that alumni associations are not always recognized for their dedication to diversity, inclusion, and belonging,” says Lenore Pearlstein, owner and publisher of Insight Into Diversity magazine. “We are proud to honor these college and university alumni associations as role models for other institutions of higher education.”

A call for nominations for this award was announced in February 2024. For more information about the 2024 Alumni Association Inclusive Excellence Award, visit insightintodiversity.com.
