Ohio University names Bob Bulow as assistant vice president for student information strategy and university registrar
After a national search that began in March, Ohio University has named Bob Bulow as the new assistant vice president for student information strategy and university registrar. Bulow, who has served as interim university registrar since November 2023, brings more than a decade of experience in higher education administration to this vital role within the Division of Enrollment Management. His appointment is effective July 1, 2024.
Bulow’s career is marked by significant achievements in optimizing student information systems, enhancing data-driven decision-making, and leading collaborative cross-functional teams to support the academic enterprise and strategic enrollment goals.
“Bob has played a critical role in the technical design and implementation of some of OHIO’s most distinctive systems that underpin academic and student success, including support of OHIO Guarantee+ Graduation Plans and BRICKS, OHIO’s reimagined general education curriculum,” said Candace J. Boeninger, vice president for enrollment management. “His innovative approach to modern records management, combined with his commitment to strong relationships and successful student outcomes, will be instrumental in supporting the academic enterprise and advancing Ohio University’s commitment to educational excellence.”
Bulow has previously served in several roles within the Office of the University Registrar, including senior associate registrar, associate registrar for technology and communication and assistant registrar catalog and scheduling services. He has also held multiple leadership positions within the Ohio Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, including a three-year presidential cycle he will conclude this fall. He is a two-time Ohio University alumnus, earning bachelor’s of science in education and master’s of education degrees.
In his new role, Bulow will be responsible for leading an effective and sustainable architecture of student and academic information to shape enrollment, enhance the student experience, and facilitate strategic planning. Reporting directly to the vice president for enrollment management, Bulow will provide vision and leadership for the Office of the University Registrar, fostering an environment that prioritizes academic integrity as well as inclusive, agile and innovative services.
The search committee was chaired by Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of the Online, Transfer and Credit Services Center Rob Callahan and included representatives from Academic Affairs, Faculty Senate, Assistant Dean’s Council, Graduate College, Regional Higher Education, Information Technology, Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics, and Student Senate.
