OHIO faculty invited to sign up for Diverse Faculty Mentoring Program
Beginning during the fall semester, OHIO’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion will once again host the year-long Diverse Faculty Mentoring Program (DFMP).
The program is designed to help diverse tenure track, instructional and clinical faculty acclimate to OHIO, develop mentoring networks and access professional support.
Over the course of the academic year, mentees and mentors will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate in a confidential, respectful and continuous relationship.
The program will offer a professional development series for participants and personalized mentoring circles. These group sessions will be designed to support the trajectories of new diverse faculty and include topics related to research, teaching, service, student mentoring, intercultural competence, conference and grant opportunities, life in Athens, work-life balance and networking.
The Diverse Faculty Mentoring Program is open to any full-time tenure track, instructional, or clinical faculty.
Program participants will have the opportunity to access mini grants from the Division of Diversity and Inclusion to support research projects, conference participation, and community outreach initiatives.
The DFMP is sponsored by the Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. The 2024-2025 program will be led by Dr. Dwan Robinson, associate professor of educational studies, and Dr. Chris Fowler, director of the Women’s Center.
The priority deadline to sign up for the 2024-2025 DFMP program is Friday, Sept. 6, at 5 p.m.
