Faculty expert Ryan Fogt discusses weather forecasting in latest Ask the Experts podcast
Communicating weather forecasts out to the community is an incredibly important job and one that can be lifesaving in cases of severe weather.
On this episode of Ask the Experts, we talk with Ohio University professor Ryan Fogt about the field of meteorology, the University’s Scalia Laboratory for Atmospheric Analytics, and the many exciting opportunities for students who love the weather.
Fogt explains the importance of providing daily forecasts to the community and what exactly it takes to stay on the latest weather development, as well as how to communicate weather changes out in an efficient manner. He also provides insight on the skills and experiences that can help meteorology students find successful careers in a variety of fields that deal with weather.
