University Community

OHIO shares a civic engagement, seasonal message of support

With Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 5) less than one week away, we’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of the numerous informational and outreach resources that stand ready to help ensure those across our University community are informed, involved and able to effectively cast their vote.

Participating in civic engagement

While Election Day is currently neither a federal nor a state holiday, there are multiple ways for individuals to participate at the polls and make their voices heard.

For those who are unable to make it to the polls or might not feel comfortable voting on Election Day, voting early, whether by absentee ballot or in-person early voting, might be an especially useful option to consider. There are also numerous campus events that will be available, both before and during Election Day, to those interested in engaging with others or learning more about politics.

Making respect visible through kindness and care

From the upcoming election and final projects to the approaching holiday season, the remainder of 2024 is certain to offer a combination of challenges and excitement that could amplify our overall anxiety and stress response.

Remember – as Bobcats, we respect our community and watch out for one another, and it’s vital for each of us to take the time to care for ourselves and those around us. We also want to remind you that the University has resources and avenues to assist you anytime you need help processing stress or difficult situations.

Thank you for helping make OHIO a place where civility and respect can thrive. Let’s continue to support one another and make visible the respect we have for our fellow Bobcats. Together, we can navigate this season with compassion and pride while standing together as a community in which all voices are heard and valued.
