Bird Ice Arena equipment repairs remain on schedule

Ohio University Facilities Management and Well-Being and Recreation have announced that equipment repairs to Bird Ice Arena are underway and positively progressing. The project remains on schedule to complete in late 2024, and the building is slated to officially reopen in early January 2025.

Project updates

The Facilities Management team and project partners are currently replacing and testing the ice arena’s floor. Upon the completion of this work in the coming weeks, they will begin connecting the floor to the building’s new chiller that creates and maintains the arena’s ice.
