
Science Café to feature Brian Collins on March 5

Ohio University’s Science Café will present a special Humanities Café with Professor Brian Collins discussing “Am I In Heaven?: Metamodernism and Religion in the World of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard" on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. at the Baker Center Front Room on the fourth floor of Baker University Center and via YouTube.
Professor Collins is the Drs. Ram and Sushila Gawande Chair in Indian Religion and Philosophy in the Department of Classics and Religious Studies. Since coming to Ohio University in 2013, he has taught classes on Hinduism, Buddhism, comparative mythology, magic and the occult. He is also the author of two books and numerous articles about Hindu myths and is the co-editor of a book on religion and Indian horror movies. Currently he is co-editing a handbook on the Indian Ma-HA-BHA-ra-ta epic and going off in a new direction with a book titled "King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’s Metamodern Music and Mythology," which he will discuss during the cafe.
