OHIO Facilities Management continuing to monitor weather-related temperature changes in buildings
OHIO’s Housing and Residence Life (HRL) and Facilities Management (FM) teams have recently received a handful of heating-related requests in the residence halls and other campus facilities – a typical occurrence in the early spring months when outdoor temperatures can range from below-freezing to above 60 within a short period.
During this seasonal period, both FM and HRL crews will continue to monitor residence hall and campus facilities temperatures to ensure comfortability on campus. Additionally, they will continue to share information that provides tips and best practices for maintaining a comfortable temperature in rooms and includes instructions for contacting HRL and/or FM for help with addressing any concerns.
A few helpful tips to consider during these seasonal temperature changes include: dressing in layers, opening windows when possible, using fans if available and staying hydrated.
Over the next several days, Facilities will begin working to transition various building systems from heating to cooling. Should you feel that your heating/cooling unit is not functioning properly, please process a work order through Facilities Management’s work order system.
