OHIO faculty, staff asked to provide information about alumni volunteers

Ohio University’s Division of University Advancement is requesting that all faculty and staff provide information on alumni who volunteered during the fiscal year, July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025.

Volunteering can include activities like speaking in classrooms, mentoring students, serving on advisory boards, or helping at events like Commencement or the Juneteenth Festival.

This survey, part of a national study on alumni engagement, is led by the Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA).

“Alumni volunteers are vital to OHIO’s students and programs,” said Jenn Bowie, executive director of the OUAA. “Faculty and staff engage alumni in many ways, from mentoring to serving on committees. Your input helps us highlight the ways Bobcats stay connected and support OHIO.”

Alumni volunteers play a critical role in OHIO’s mission and are key to the University's Dynamic Strategy, particularly the Engage Pillar, which focuses on enhancing alumni engagement through mentorship, volunteerism and giving.

Their efforts not only support students but also elevate OHIO’s prestige, national reputation, and appeal to prospective students and donors.

The survey, part of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) alumni engagement study, allows universities to benchmark their alumni efforts. Metrics include volunteerism, experiences, communication, and philanthropy.

Ohio University’s alumni engagement has significantly grown in recent years. All faculty and staff are encouraged to submit their forms by Aug. 31 to ensure the most accurate data for FY25.
