Ohio University to close Dec. 25 for annual Winter Break Closure; reopen Jan. 3

To recognize and reward the contributions of employees on all campuses and centers, Ohio University closes for Winter Break each year.

The following days are included in the 2025-26 Winter Break Closure (WBC):

• Day 1: December 25, 2025 (Christmas Day Observed)
• Day 2: December 26, 2025 (Presidents' Day Observed)
• Day 3: December 29, 2025 (WBC)
• Day 4: December 30, 2025 (WBC)
• Day 5: December 31, 2025 (WBC)
• Day 6: January 1, 2026 (New Year's Day Observed)
• Day 7: January 2, 2026, 2026 (WBC)

Please note: Any work performed during the above closure period must be approved by the appropriate unit head or designee of the president. Employees who are in active pay status on the work day preceding Winter Break Closure will receive pay for the closure days.

Employees who are required to work during the Winter Break Closure should review the time reporting guidelines to ensure they report their time and are compensated appropriately.
