University community encouraged to remain aware of potential for falling snow, ice as outdoor temperatures increase

As temperatures begin to rise following the winter weather that has impacted the area in recent weeks, OHIO's Facilities Management team has encouraged the University community to be aware of the increased risk of thawing snow and ice that could fall from sloped roofs and onto campus sidewalks and roadways.

Helpful tips and guidance:

  • Always remain aware of your surroundings while navigating around campus, particularly when entering and exiting buildings.
  • Maintain a safe distance from areas of visible snow and/or ice that remain on rooftops, building overhangs and gutters.
  • In the event you see falling snow or ice on campus, please contact the Facilities Management team directly at 740-593-2911 for appropriate assessment and remediation.

Thank you for helping to keep our University community safe this winter!
