GRID Lab celebrates 20th anniversary
The J. Warren McClure School of Emerging Communication Technologies hosts a 20th anniversary celebration for the Game Research and Immersive Design (GRID) Lab from 1-5 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
Created in 2005, the GRID Lab has served as a center for Ohio University students, staff and faculty to access state-of-the-art tools in the area of game development. The GRID Lab will be celebrating 20 years of operation by holding an open house and showcasing student projects.
Student demonstrations from VR and Game Development majors and Communication Media Arts MFA candidates will include: digital games; VR interactive experiences; Ohio Esports Arena; mixed reality projects; research designs; digital art; and animation and motion capture studio demons.
Three new GRID Lab projects will also debut at the event: the OPOTA Cine-VR Training Series, Operation Big Missile and Red House Detective VR.
This event is free and open to the public. It will be held in Scripps Hall on all three floors.
