Get ready for Fall 2026: Concourse Syllabus training, support resources now available

Ohio University faculty can now begin preparing their Fall 2026 courses using the Concourse Syllabus tool in Canvas.

To support this transition, the Office of Instructional Design (OID) has developed a variety of training opportunities, resources and personalized support options to help faculty complete their required Course Syllabus efficiently and confidently.

The Concourse Syllabus resource page serves as the central location for training opportunities, self-paced learning materials, faculty guides, FAQs and support information. Whether you are creating your first syllabus in Concourse or looking for answers to specific questions, you'll find resources designed to help you complete your Course Syllabus efficiently and confidently.

• Register for upcoming workshops 
  Join an interactive workshop to learn how to navigate Concourse, complete required syllabus elements, copy content between courses and prepare your syllabus for publication. Workshops provide guided instruction, demonstrations and opportunities to ask questions in real time.
• Access self-paced training materials 
  Prefer to learn on your own schedule? The self-paced video tutorials walk you through key Concourse tasks step-by-step, allowing you to learn at your own pace and revisit topics whenever needed.
• Review faculty guides and documentation 
  Detailed faculty guides provide instructions for using Concourse within Canvas, editing required content, copying syllabi between courses, embedding syllabi into Canvas and managing combined course sections.
• Browse frequently asked questions 
  The Concourse FAQ page addresses common questions about accessing the tool, editing content, copying syllabi, student visibility and compliance requirements. It's a great first stop when you need a quick answer.
• Connect with instructional design support
  Have a quick question? Join the drop-in support sessions every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m., or connect with the OID team through the live Teams chat Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for assistance and guidance.

Start early and save time later

Fall courses are available in Canvas earlier than in previous years, providing faculty with additional time to complete their Course Syllabus before the public syllabus site launches. Taking advantage of the available training and support resources now can help reduce last-minute preparation and ensure a smooth start to the semester.
