Ohio Athletics expands agreement with OhioHealth

Through its partnership with Ohio Athletics, Learfield’s Ohio Sports Properties announced the expansion of its agreement today, establishing OhioHealth as the Official Healthcare Provider of Ohio Athletics.

“We are excited to extend our alliance with OhioHealth as a transformational partner in supporting our 450 student-athletes,” Director of Athletics Slade Larscheid said. “This agreement aligns first-class healthcare and sports medicine to all 16 sports – the health and wellness of our teams is paramount. Special thank you to LeeAnn Lucas-Helber and Jess Hennessy for their collaboration and partnership with OhioHealth.”

The multi-year agreement strengthens a longstanding relationship, while upholding OhioHealth’s role as a foundational partner of Ohio Athletics with a shared commitment to furthering student-athlete wellness, health and community impact.

"For nearly 15 years, OhioHealth has been proud to partner with Ohio University Athletics, supporting student-athletes with the clinical expertise and care they need to compete at their highest level,” LeeAnn Lucas-Helber, President, OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital said. “As we take this relationship into its next chapter, as the Official Healthcare Provider of Ohio Athletics, we're building on a much broader commitment to Ohio University, Athens County and communities across southeastern Ohio."

The partnership will emphasize OhioHealth’s connection and educational initiatives with Ohio Athletics and Ohio University, continuing the strong investment in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, College of Health Sciences and Professions and branding signage across Ohio Athletics’ facilities.

“We are incredibly grateful for OhioHealth’s continued support of Ohio Athletics and for the trust they place in our Ohio Sports Properties team to steward the partnership,” General Manager of Ohio Sports Properties Matt Molde said. “We’re excited about what we can accomplish together over the next five years and beyond.”

Ohio Sports Properties, the locally based team of Learfield is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Ohio Athletics and manages all sponsorships, in-venue signage and advertising on behalf of the University.

Looking forward, Ohio Athletics, Ohio Sports Properties and OhioHealth will continue working together by connecting OhioHealth’s broader commitment to the University community with its leadership and presence of OhioHealth O’Bleness in Athens.
