Celebrate Make Respect Visible Week with events across campus

Ohio University will celebrate Make Respect Visible Week Nov. 2-6 with events and activities that encourage respectful dialogue, connection and understanding across differences.

Make Respect Visible is a university wide initiative that encourages students to value every voice and engage in meaningful dialogue. The initiative supports OHIO’s commitment to building a community where everyone is respected. Faculty and staff are encouraged to share these upcoming events with students and attend a listening session.

Events taking place throughout the week

Green Dot Training - Monday, Nov. 2, noon-1 p.m. at Baker University Center. Participate in training focused on bystander intervention. Free lunch will be provided.

Make Respect Visible Listening Sessions - Tuesday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Baker University Center. There are opportunities for faculty, staff and students to join a conversation focused on listening, sharing perspectives and building understanding.

Recovery Is Spoken Here Training - Tuesday, Nov. 3, noon-1 p.m. at Baker University Center. Learn about supporting recovery and creating a welcoming community. Free lunch will be provided.

Make Respect Visible Table - Wednesday, Nov. 4, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the tables outside of the fourth floor of Baker University Center. Stop by to learn more about the initiative and how you can help make respect visible across campus. Enter to win prizes including gift cards to local shops and restaurants and prize raffles. 

Make Respect Visible — Kindness Day - Thursday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Baker University Center. Take part in activities that encourage kindness and connection throughout the OHIO community.

Make Respect Visible Hockey Game - Friday, Nov. 6, at Bird Arena. Join the community for a hockey game celebrating the Make Respect Visible initiative.

Donations will be accepted at Baker 330 throughout the week for Cats' Cupboard (Wish List) and My Sister's Place (Wish List).
