New semester, same reliable transportation

Ohio University Transportation and Parking Services (TPS) would like to remind OHIO students, faculty and staff of the wide range of transit resources available to support campus and community access. TPS is also proud to share information for the OHIO community on best practices when it comes to using these free services.

Ohio University boasts a variety of transportation solutions to connect users to campus, local and regional travel destinations including CATS Daily Campus Shuttles, CATS Late Night Evening and Weekend Shuttles, Bobcat Pass and CATCAB Accessible Transit.

Those utilizing transportation resources are encouraged to download the TripShot app for real-time transit tracking and trip planning capabilities.

Daily Campus Shuttles

Daily Campus Shuttles (CATS) is a free shuttle service for the university community that travels to multiple destinations throughout campus. The service runs on dedicated transit routes from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the semester.

No pass or ID is required, simply hop aboard a shuttle at one of the designated stop locations.

Evening and Weekend Campus Shuttles

CATS Late Night runs from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday during the semester.

Riders are encouraged to schedule rides in advance or on-demand by downloading the TripShot app. Wait times are dependent on demand and travel loads at time of reservation request and cannot be guaranteed.

New for the 2026-2027 academic year is a stop servicing the Athens County Fairgrounds.

Athens Public Transit

The Bobcat Pass program is a partnership between Ohio University and the City of Athens. The program enables students, faculty and staff to ride Athens Public Transit routes free of charge by utilizing their University ID card at time of boarding for unlimited fare travel.

Accessible Transit

CATCAB is a free para-transit service to assist students, faculty and staff experiencing temporary or permanent mobility limitations. This service is available to registered riders from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday through Sunday.
