At Seigfred Hall, a construction zone briefly became a canvas. During the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts’ “Make Your Mark” event, students, faculty and alumni were invited to draw directly onto the walls. The drawings continue a long tradition of student involvement in the hall’s design while introducing a new era.

ReStore mural brings Athens community together through art and storytelling

A once-gray wall at Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore on West Union Street has become a vibrant reflection of Athens’ creative spirit. The new ReStore Mural, to be unveiled Nov. 10, celebrates community, resilience and connection through color and collaboration. The project grew from a partnership among Passion Works Studio, Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio, the Barbara Geralds Institute for Storytelling and Social Impact, with support from OUCU Financial.

Alumni, students and community partners came together Sept. 18-19 for the 2025 Thomas Lonsbury Memorial Scholarship Event. The event raised nearly $40,000 to support scholarships for students in Ohio University’s J. Warren McClure School of Emerging Communication Technologies.
