Alumnus Pavel Butorin to receive honor in fight for press freedom

Scripps alumnus Pavel Butorin and his wife, journalist Alsu Kurmasheva, will be honored with the James W. Foley Foundation’s World Press Freedom Award for their work and advocacy.

OHIO colleges to host regional competition for Scripps National Spelling Bee on Feb. 28

February 24, 2026

The spelling bee is open to elementary and middle school students across the region and will be held from 10 a.m. - noon in Baker University Center, Room 240/242. The public is welcome to attend.
