Reimagining Plastic Waste with the Russ College of Engineering and Technology

Researchers at Ohio University have a vision to address environmental challenges by repurposing mining and plastic waste into high performance building materials that possess lower embodied energy and emissions than current plastic composites. OHO's trademark RC Squared combines reclaimed carbon and plastic materials, forming high performance engineering plastic composed of nearly 100% recycled components.
