If you’re wondering why, it all dates back to 1962, when he made his first gift to Ohio University. He will tell you it wasn’t much, but it was what the young OHIO graduate could afford.

In 2017, Gene Thrailkill, MED ’62, took what would be his last bow at Ohio University, returning to campus to conduct the Marching 110 and its alumni during a Homecoming performance commemorating the 50th anniversary of the band he built.
