Current limitations for T-Mobile users trying to access OHIO VPN

Accessing the OHIO Virtual Private Network (VPN) is currently not supported on T-Mobile home internet or hotspots operating on T-Mobile services. The OHIO IT Service Desk has been experiencing an influx of tickets that relate to the company’s services not allowing users to access the OHIO VPN. 

The VPN allows users to access online resources that they would primarily need to be on campus to access. Resources include remote desktops, remote printing and shared network storage. According to the OHIO IT website, “The VPN creates an encrypted ‘tunnel’ that protects your network traffic from being captured by unauthorized individuals.” Additional information can be found on the internet service page. 

Please be aware that all OHIO campuses offer outdoor Wi-Fi coverage that can be utilized to access a wireless connection. For technical issues with the VPN that do not involve T-Mobile limitations, please contact the Service Desk for assistance.
