Faculty and staff invited to provide input on student experience

Ohio University and OHIO IT have partnered with brightspot strategy, llc to assess the student experience from recruitment through graduation to identify areas for greatest improvement, including technology, academic and non-academic services, campus culture and community.

Faculty and staff have been invited to share their perspectives on the OHIO Student Experience Faculty/Staff Survey, which opened on Friday, March 5 and closes today, March 15. If you haven’t completed this survey yet, please take 10 minutes and share your perspective. There will be additional opportunities to provide more in-depth feedback through workshops and 1:1 interviews during upcoming project activities.

The student experience assessment project began evaluating potential partner RFPs over a year ago as part of the Digital Transformation strategy. After an intentional pause due to COVID-19, the project resumed this spring and is set to run for four months with a primary focus on first-year undergraduate student experiences at OHIO.

This assessment will focus on direct input from students, faculty, staff and other stakeholders to deliver the following:

  • Capture the as-is student experience, specifically the interactions required to prepare for, participate in and complete an Ohio University education.
  • Describe select student groups and the journey from their unique perspective.
  • Document pain points with a focus on technology issues and consideration for broader challenges.
  • Articulate opportunity areas with greatest need and highest impact for redesign with short, medium and long-term action-oriented recommendations.

For additional information about the project, visit the OHIO Student Experience Assessment project page. Anyone interested in participating in workshops or interviews should contact the project manager, Mike Kurnot.
