Professor Nobuyuki Kawauchi honored with the Tanaka-OHIO Award
Chubu University Professor Nobuyuki Kawauchi was the recipient of the Tanaka-OHIO award during Ohio University’s 2021 International Education Week (IEW).
Each year during the IEW Gala, the Tanaka-OHIO Award for Excellence in Global Engagement recognizes faculty and staff at Chubu University, Ohio University’s long-time strategic partner, for their outstanding contributions to international education and research, global community service, global competency, cultural understanding and/or international programs at Chubu University, or in their fields or disciplines.
Since joining Chubu University 23 years ago, Kawauchi has made significant contributions toward the support of international exchange, as well as the development of the invaluable relationship between OHIO and Chubu University.
He has been a strong supporter of the development of the OHIO Choki Study Abroad Program, encouraging many students to expand their horizons with study abroad. In 2013, he served as a Glidden Visiting Professor at Ohio University and actively engaged in the renewal of the cooperative agreement between OHIO and Chubu University.
“Throughout my career, I have strived to make contributions to international exchange, as well as to the development of the relations between our institutions,” Kawauchi said.
