Professional Development Pathways’ Blackboard LMS redesigned to take advantage of new features in Blackboard Ultra

Ohio University’s Professional Development Pathways (PDP) Program is making several changes in the coming months to improve the user experience and benefit the OHIO community. Part of these changes include redesigning the Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) to take advantage of new features in Blackboard Ultra.

These new advantages include:

  • A single Blackboard organization for all PDP eLearning modules
  • All pathways will now be contained in one area
  • A simplified user interface including a drop-down menu system that allows for easier navigation to eLearning modules
  • Cross-listed trainings that will update automatically
  • Immediate access to all eLearning modules
  • No registration required
  • No waiting time for access
  • A progress tracking feature that will provide a one-page view of progress for all eLearning modules and workshops in all pathways
  • Grades that will transfer over from old pathways

As part of this transition, the PDP Pathway structure in Blackboard will be entirely converted to Blackboard Ultra by June 27, 2022. Grades from completed PDP learning experiences will be transferred to the new environment, but any incomplete work MUST be completed by end of day on June 23, 2022 for a grade to be transferred.  Work that has been started but not complete by end of day on June 23 will not be recorded, and participants may need to retake the incomplete experiences if they are still a requirement in the updated pathway programs.

Additional details about PDP 2.0 are forthcoming. For questions about the new features in PDP 2.0, please contact Michael Greene at mgreene@ohio.edu.
