School of Dance hosts the first Dance Studio Day in November
Students and teachers of dance are invited to join the Ohio University School of Dance faculty and current students for Dance Studio Day on Saturday, Nov. 5.
The event features a full day of fun and educational dance activities designed to help participants progress in the discipline. Dance Studio Day is open to high school dancers of all levels, and runs from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Ohio University.
During Dance Studio Day, students will have the opportunity to participate in master classes with OHIO faculty and students, and meet current dance majors and featured alumni to learn more about the exciting opportunities available in the School of Dance and the College of Fine Arts.
“This event will be a unique opportunity for dancers and teachers to immerse themselves in the exciting and warm embrace of the Ohio University environment and the brilliance of its School of Dance community. Our students and faculty look forward to sharing their passion for movement, self-expression, dedication to high academic rigor, and shared learning. The School of Dance offers a highly supportive environment, and we invite all who want to discover this extraordinary opportunity in OHIO," says Zelma Badu-Younge, professor of dance and director of the School of Dance.
Participating students will receive one-on-one feedback from faculty and advanced students to help refine their skills as artists. And as an added benefit, current high school seniors may choose to use this experience as an audition.
Students should register for Dance Studio Day before the day of event. There is no fee to attend.
