Information from OIT: macOS Ventura now available to OHIO users

Apple has announced the Oct. 24 release of macOS Ventura (version 13), which offers a variety of feature and security enhancements.

The Ohio University Office of Information Technology (OIT) recommends that users always run the most current version of macOS, which offers improved functionality and keeps devices compliant with OHIO’s Information Security Standards. 

OHIO-managed Mac installation instructions 

1. Open the Self Service app. 
2. Select Browse. 
3. Select macOS 13 Upgrade (Ventura) from the list. Please note, if this option does not appear, it means that your OHIO-managed Mac is not eligible for this upgrade. 

Personal Mac installation instructions 

1. Open System Preferences. 
2. Select General. 
3. Select Software Update. 
4. Select macOS Ventura 13. Please note, if this option does not appear, it means that your device is not eligible for this upgrade. However, we recommend that you install any updates that appear in this menu in order to keep your device operating optimally and securely.
