Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library and Ohio University Chillicothe Introduce Community Collection at Quinn Library

Ohio University Chillicothe and the Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library (CRCPL) are excited to announce the launch of a new collaboration that enhances access to leisure-reading materials and more for students, faculty, staff and community members who visit OHIO Chillicothe’s Quinn Library. CRCPL staff have curated a unique community collection at OHIO Chillicothe's library, showcasing a selection of bestseller books and other items for public enjoyment.

The community collection includes popular books spanning various genres, such as fiction, non-fiction and children's literature. Additionally, the collection features unique items like a hammock and a disc golf kit, providing opportunities for students and other community members to engage in leisure activities.

"Partnerships are an important part of the library's mission," said James Hill, CRCPL executive director. "The Outreach department is always looking for ways to bring services directly to users. The OHIO Chillicothe community collection provides easy access to a 'lucky day' collection for anyone who visits the Quinn Library. Visitors will find the latest bestsellers with no waiting."

OHIO Chillicothe students and community members utilizing the Quinn Library will now have convenient access to this curated selection, enriching their reading and recreational experiences.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library to bring this community collection to our library,” said Brandi Weaver, Manager of Library Services at OHIO Chillicothe. “This collaboration reflects our commitment to providing a vibrant and enriching environment for our students and the broader community,"

To access the community collection, individuals are invited to obtain a free library card at CRCPL.org/librarycard. Upon application, users will receive a temporary ID, allowing them to check out up to three physical books, access online resources, and place holds to be picked up at a CRCPL branch. Those wishing to borrow more than three physical books can easily upgrade their card by visiting any CRCPL library location with a photo ID.

Returns for the community collection can be placed in the provided bin at Ohio University Chillicothe's Quinn Library. Borrowers are asked not to return Ohio University books to a CRCPL branch.
