MyOHIO Success Network (MOSN) updates for OHIO faculty, staff

The MyOHIO Success Network (MOSN) has been in place since 2016 at Ohio University. After evaluating the possibilities and limitations with the existing technology, the underlying technology for MOSN is being replaced.

The 2024-25 academic year will be one of transition as we continue to define and implement a new platform. Here are the things you need to know about how critical elements of MOSN will continue during the transition.

Faculty

  • Mid-term Progress Surveys will continue. As in the past, you will receive an email with links to complete the Mid-term Progress Surveys for your classes and the information will be shared with students’ success advisors.
  • Academic Alerts will be initiated through the Faculty and Advising Center beginning Fall Semester. During the summer if you have a concern that you would normally submit through the Academic Alert feature in MOSN, please send an email to MyOhioSuccessNetwork@ohio.edu.
  • Appointment Scheduling will need to transition to Microsoft Bookings by May 10, 2024. Faculty using MOSN to schedule appointments have been sent a direct email regarding this change. For more information about Bookings, you can refer to this knowledge base article. If you need additional assistance, you can submit an IT Help ticket through that page or by calling the Help Desk at 740-593-1222.

Staff

  • OHIO Online Advisors will be piloting the new technology starting this summer. Mid-term Progress Surveys and New Student Success Survey will be sent out in mid-June. Training will be provided before the changes so that advisors are fully equipped to follow up with students based on the results of the surveys. (Please note that Mid-term Progress Surveys are sent only to instructors of record teaching OHIO Online classes in the summer.)
  • The Faculty and Advising Center has been enhanced to support identifying students who are not registered for a specific semester or who are under-enrolled. This feature was made available April 5, 2024.
  • Not Yet Registered flags will continue to be updated in MOSN through May 10. In addition, the Office of the University Registrar will be sending reminder emails through the summer to students who are not registered.
  • May 10, 2024, is the last day that you may log into MOSN directly.
  • Beginning May 11, 2024, please use Microsoft Bookings to enable students to schedule directly with you.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we transition the underlying technology. If you have questions regarding these changes, please send an email to Deb Benton at bentond@ohio.edu.
