Applications open to join Alternate Spring Break program

Ohio University students are invited to apply for the 2025 Alternate Spring Break program.

The Alternate Spring Break program is an immersive, interdisciplinary experience rooted in service to the surrounding community. The program’s objective is to bridge the gap between students’ lives on campus and the richness of the life of the local community.

The program will take place March 10-13, 2025.

Students participating in the program will explore various topics, including public service and civic engagement, conservation, environmental health, Appalachian history, and societal issues. In addition, service-learning projects with community partners will embed students in new communities, historically significant towns, and non-profit organizations.

Selected students will be asked to submit a non-refundable $50 program fee to reserve their spot. Lodging, transportation, and meals are provided at no additional cost.

Applications for the program will be accepted through Sunday, Feb. 16. OHIO students can apply for the program here.
