Streamlining research: Cayuse Sponsored Projects Module launches March 6

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is pleased to announce that the new electronic research administration software, Cayuse Sponsored Projects, is officially launching on March 6, 2025.

Ohio University researchers will use this module to follow a research project from beginning to end. Faculty can create proposals, route them for approval, track them through the award process, receive an account number for spending on their project, and, ultimately, close the project. Once the new module is active in Cayuse, Sponsored Projects proposals will be disabled in LEO, the current electronic research software; all new proposals will need to be created in Cayuse.

Training sessions

Members of Ohio University interested in learning more about Cayuse and the new process for Sponsored Projects proposals and awards in Cayuse will be able to attend several training sessions hosted by ORSP via Microsoft Teams. You can find links to the training sessions below, or on the website about the Sponsored Projects module.

Each session will contain the same information. Attending a training session is strongly recommended but not required to use the Sponsored Projects module. Ultimately, a video of a training session will be posted for viewing at your convenience on the Sponsored Projects module website.

Information sessions

In addition to hands-on training, ORSP will be hosting several information sessions to answer any questions that researchers may have while interacting with the Cayuse system.
