OHIO conducting review of lecture capture tools

Ohio University’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), is conducting a strategic review of OHIO’s lecture capture and video tools, including Panopto and VoiceThread.

The current lecture capture contract with Panopto, which the University has leveraged for nearly 12 years, ends in 2026. This review, aligned with the Dynamic Strategy's Learn pillar, will help identify the appropriate multimedia solutions to meet the needs of OHIO faculty and students.

The Lecture Capture Evaluation Project includes the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) in April 2025.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to share their lecture capture insights via a short seven-question Lecture Capture Tool Use at Ohio University survey by Feb. 23.
