Graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences excel in ranks, multiple programs in the College of Health Sciences and Professions named among the top 100 in nation in 2025 U.S. News rankings

Numerous graduate programs in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Health Sciences and Professions have been named in the top 100 in the nation, with several rising significant spots in U.S. News' 2025 graduate rankings; this year, U.S. News evaluated programs in numerous disciplines, including engineering, medicine, business, education, nursing and social sciences.

Additionally, OHIO’s Public Affairs program in the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service was ranked in the top 100 in the nation at 70.

The College of Arts and Sciences' History and English programs both rose in the rankings to crack the top 100 and were named second best in the state of Ohio out of public institutions, with the graduate History program rising 27 spots to 86 and the graduate English program rising 18 spots to 90. The Clinical Psychology program was also ranked at 91.

Several programs in Ohio University’s College of Health Sciences and Professions, including Physical Therapy, Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, were also ranked among the top in the state and nation in the latest U.S. News and World Report graduate rankings.

The Physical Therapy program tied at 50, the Audiology program tied at 61 and the Speech Language Pathology program tied at 60. The Physical Therapy Program was also ranked the second-best program in the state of Ohio out of public institutions.

OHIO’s Nursing Anesthesia program also ranked in the top 100 in the nation, tied at 80 and ranked third in the state of Ohio out of public institutions. The Physician Assistant programs also saw an increase, rising 23 spots to 119.

The Russ College of Engineering and Technology's Electrical Engineering Programs saw an increase of 25 spots, tying at 122 in the nation and the Industrial and Systems Engineering Programs also cracked the top 100 best in the nation at 86.

Additionally, OHIO’s part-time MBA program in the College of Business rose 22 spots to 161.

  • Best Health Graduate Programs – Audiology (College of Health Sciences and Professions): tied at 61, third in Ohio
  • Best Health Graduate Programs – Physical Therapy (College of Health Sciences and Professions): tied at 50, second in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Health Graduate Programs – Speech Language Pathology (College of Health Sciences and Professions): tied at 60, third in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Public Affairs Programs (Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service): tied at 70, third in Ohio
  • Best Public Health Programs (College of Health Sciences and Professions): tied at 116, third in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Business School Programs (College of Business): tied at 122-133, fourth in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Computer Science Programs (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 148, third in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Education Programs (Patton College of Education): tied at 138; fifth in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Part-time MBA Programs (College of Business): tied at 161; sixth in Ohio out of public institutions.
  • Best Engineering Schools (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 149; third in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Biomedical Engineering/Bioengineering Programs (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 124; fifth in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Chemical Engineering Programs (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 131; fourth in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Civil Engineering Programs (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 139; fourth in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Electrical/Electronic/Communications Engineering Programs (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 122; third in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Industrial/Manufacturing /Systems Engineering Programs (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 86; third in Ohio out of public institutions
  • Best Mechanical Engineering Programs (Russ College of Engineering and Technology): tied at 163; seventh in Ohio out of public institutions
